Coordination

Communication comes first and foremost. Some packages, you tape up, send in the mail, and don’t worry about them too much. Nothing could be further from the truth when shipping a high-grade piece of machinery like a high-performance racing engine. Every detail should be ironed out.

A lot of what we ship is specialty, unique, antique, or high-performance. Each of these requires a different checklist. There may be something you need us to know. Especially when shipping internationally, we want to make sure you’re aware of everything you need to know. Step 1 is always communication. This irons out so many other potential delays before they can happen, but many shipping companies don’t think in these terms.

When shipping high performance engines internationally, there are different regulations for different countries. We handle as much of the paperwork for you as possible, but there are still elements you need to fill out. We can help you through that so that your engine doesn’t risk getting stuck in customs.

Preferences

We can ship by crate or pallet, or combination of the two. For the most security, we’d recommend shipping by crate with the engine firmly strapped and secured inside, as well as floated packing inside. Of course, there must be openings for dipsticks, so the fluids can be checked. Engines, of course, must be drained of fluids before shipping.
